Obituary

Mrs. Rosie Eloise Evans Baker Cade, 84, of Holly Springs passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Edward Darrell and Myrtle Womack Evans. Eloise was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Cade; daughter, Nancy Baker Ransom and brothers, J.C. Evans and Vernon Evans. She owned and operated Evans Grocery on Wilbon Rd. in Fuquay-Varina for many years. Eloise enjoyed taking Frosty’s from Wendy’s to friends and shut-ins in the community. She loved working as a caregiver for over 30 years in the Fuquay-Varina community. Eloise also enjoyed eating with neighbors and friends at Taco Bell in Fuquay-Varina. She was an active member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina. Eloise’s biggest joy in life was attending church services during the week as well as the early worship service on Sunday. She had a sweet spirit and a strong conviction of Jesus Christ. Eloise always let her light shine and never missed an opportunity to witness.

Eloise is survived by her son, J.G. Baker and wife Michaela of Holly Springs; 4 grandchildren, Randy Gray Ludlum, Candy Renee Sandy, Joshua Gray Baker and wife Heather, Tristen Rae Moorer and husband Jordan; 7 great-grandchildren, Rylee, Payton, Natalie, Abby, Hailey, Noah, Mason; 2 sisters, Peggy Reagan of Cary and Phyllis Prince and husband Bernice of Fuquay-Varina.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina with Rev. Glen Warren, Rev. C. Paul Jones and J.G. Baker officiating. Phillip Bruce McLaurin will play and sing at the funeral service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina. The family will receive friends at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and other times at the home of J.G. and Michaela Baker.
